12th Grade Timeline
August / September
- Request admissions information from prospective colleges.
- Ask colleges you are interested in to send you admission information.
- Sign up for the October and / or December ACT test. (December is the last time you can take the ACT for university & academic scholarships)
- Meet with college admission counselors and pick up materials during College Day.
- Consider taking college courses offered.
October / November
- Sign up for the ACT workshops.
- Take the ACT.
- Begin applying for college admissions, housing, and available scholarships.
December
- Take the ACT.
- Sign up for the ACT workshops.
- Begin applying for college admissions, housing, and available scholarships.
January
- Have parents to file their tax returns as soon as possible in order to fill out the FAFSA.
- Finish applying to colleges, housing, and some scholarships.
February / March
- Complete the application process for admissions, housing, and scholarships.
- Send any housing deposits to the school you have chosen to attend.
April / May
- Follow up on your financial aid package.
- If you are searching for loans, compare different lending institutions.
- Take the AP Calculus exam if you were enrolled in that class.
- Tell your counselor where to send final transcripts.
- Notify schools in which you have applied you will not attend.
