What it is:
The Youth Services Centers are a provision of the Kentucky Education Reform Act and it is part of the Kentucky Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSC) in the Cabinet for Health and Family Sevices.
Youth Services Center Mission Statement:
The mission of YSC is to help remove barriers preventing or interfering with the student's educational needs. They achieve this by using community resources to help students succeed in school.
Youth Service Center's Core Components
The Youth Services Center has seven components. Five of these are required by the state. Two are determinied based on the Needs Assessment data collected every other year from students, school staff and parents.
1. *Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counseling
2. *Employment Counseling, Training and Placement
3. *Family Crisis and Mental Health Counseling
4. *Referrals to Health and Social Services
5. *Summer and Part-Time Job Development
6. Drop-Out Prevention
7. Educational Support
